What could be different about the way the current ed lab is being taught?

Dani...Maybe it's just me...I think it's wonderful that ed lab has the most participants of any class here at westminster (next to symphonic of course and chapel choir in it's first semester).. but I feel like it's too big for it's own good...granted, the education dept. has really stepped it up with the hiring of Professor Morrow and obtainment of Professor Higgins. Either way, would you like to teach a class of 100 students on a Friday afternoon for an hour? Knowing that for most of those kids, there's a 0-credit class separating them from the weekend? Perhaps as a solution that could be looked at is a freshman/sophomore ed lab on fridays and a junior senior lab on tuesdays. there are a lot of advantages to a system like this...but to spin it back to the intention of the blog, I guess this could be considered when we as future teachers do our own planning in schools for choirs/bands/rehearsals and the like...Children in America are forced to work hard and see little result of that work until they reach the age of 18. No wonder underage drinking is a problem. AND no wonder the drop out rate is so high. Think of it...what if every friday afternoon in elementary/middle and high schools around the country ended with music/gym instead of english or math...? just throwing things out there..
